Popular noughties girl group Mis-Teeq reunited recently for a TV performance \u2013 marking their first time on stage together in 22 years.<\/p>\n
The R&B \/ garage girl group, comprising members Alesha Dixon, Sabrina Washington and Su-Elise Nash, had a string of hits in the early noughties \u2013 seven top ten hits in a row in their native UK, and four top 40 hits here in Australia.<\/p>\n
Their biggest song, the 2003 Aussie top 10 Scandalous, even broke through in America \u2013 but shortly after, the group disbanded after their record company went under.<\/p>\n
The group\u2019s resident rapper Alesha Dixon forged the most successful solo career, releasing four studio albums and becoming a reality TV judge on shows like Australia\u2019s Got Talent and Britain\u2019s Got Talent, where the trio made their comeback performance this week with a medley of some of their biggest hits. It marked the first time the three members of the group had performed together since October 2004. <\/p>\n
They had officially announced their split in early 2005 following the news that their record label, Telstar Records, had entered bankruptcy proceedings. Media placed much of the blame for the record label\u2019s failure with former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, who had received a huge advance to sign with the label. Her signing only produced one single before the label went under. <\/p>\n
Mis-Teeq last month announced they would reform for a huge comeback show at London\u2019s Wembley Arena in September, to mark the 25th anniversary of the release of their debut album Lickin\u2019 on Both Sides. <\/p>\n
Early reactions to the reunion have been positive, with fans marvelling under the YouTube video <\/a>of their Britain\u2019s Got Talent performance at how little the stars appear to have changed since they launched their pop careers at the start of the century. Dixon and Washington are now both 47, while Nash is 45.<\/p>\n \u201cHow do they all look even finer?\u201d one fan asked.<\/p>\n \u201cThese 3 beautiful women are age 45-47! Wow just wow older women rock,\u201d another raved.<\/p>\n The group\u2019s reunion comes amid a spate of revivals for girl groups of the early noughties, among them the Pussycat Dolls, who made their first televised performance<\/a> in more than six years at last week\u2019s American Music Awards.<\/p>\n The Dolls \u2013 now a three-piece \u2013 will launch a UK and European tour later this year, but their comeback plans already hit a snag as their entire North American reunion tour was cancelled due to low ticket sales.<\/p>\n And closer to home, Australian girl group Bardot \u2013 birthed from the first season of the hit reality TV show Popstars \u2013 this weekend continued their reunion, performing at London\u2019s Mighty Hoopla festival.<\/p>\n
