{"id":459962,"date":"2026-06-04T03:49:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T03:49:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/459962\/"},"modified":"2026-06-04T03:49:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T03:49:14","slug":"appeal-for-help-after-cabin-stolen-in-hastings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/459962\/","title":{"rendered":"Appeal for help after cabin stolen in Hastings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"DjAaGJVL\" style=\"display:none\">The stolen cabin was part of the Cabin Specialist\u2019s rental fleet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DjAaGJVL\" style=\"display:none\">Company director Glen Ellis said the cabin was about to be taken to Levin to be rented as a child\u2019s bedroom.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DjAaGJVL\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cNow the kid\u2019s going to have to live in the shed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DjAaGJVL\" style=\"display:none\">Ellis said the 2.4m wide and 4.8m long cabins his company produces sit permanently on trailers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DjAaGJVL\" style=\"display:none\">Each cabin is wired for power with interior and exterior lights.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DjAaGJVL\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cThey\u2019re just an empty room so people put their own furniture and beds into them,\u201d Ellis said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DjAaGJVL\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cA spare room in your backyard is the motto.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DjAaGJVL\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cWe\u2019d just like someone who lives next door to spot it and dob the bugger in and have it find its way home so as we can supply it to our needy customers out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"DjAaGJVL\" style=\"display:none\">A police spokesperson said information could be passed on to police via 105, either by phone or online at 105.police.govt.nz using the file number 260604\/2879.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DjAaGJVL\" style=\"display:none\">Information could also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The stolen cabin was part of the Cabin Specialist\u2019s rental fleet.
