\n The Glasgow Gallery on Bath Street opened their latest exhibition last weekend ‘Edge of the Known’, exploring the shifting boundary between land and water. A Meet the Artists\u00a0will be held at the gallery between 11am-1pm until June 20, an opportunity to have a relaxed conversation with the Artists about their current work.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n Featured Artist, Glasgow based Connie Liebschner presets a new series of work which moves into a brighter, earthy toned, more surreal territory.\n<\/p>\n
\n Her layer composition explore water not only as a reflective surface but as a mysterious presence existing between the visible and the unknown. Inspired by her deep connection to outdoor swimming and exploring, she uses painting as a way to translate embodied, immersive experiences of place.\n<\/p>\n

\n Alongside Connie, Ayrshire based Artists Julie Smith and Kerry Souter together with Print Maker Carol Nunan based on the Isle of Bute, offer distinct yet harmonious interpretations of the Scottish landscape.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n Through textured surfaces, intuitive mark making and layered processes, their work echo’s the rhythms of erosion, light and time, shaped by experiences and the use of natural materials from Scotland’s rich surroundings.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n Together, the works within this exhibition feels both immediate and ancient yet contemplative and immersive, and invite viewers to pause within these in-between spaces where the familiar meets the unknown.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
