The Frenchman was absent from the circuit on Saturday after Ferrari confirmed earlier in the day that he had undergone medical checks and would remain under observation at a local medical facility.<\/p>\n

Ferrari initially released a brief statement explaining Vasseur\u2019s absence.<\/p>\n

\u201cFred Vasseur will not be present at the circuit today,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing some medical checks, Fred will remain under observation at a local medical facility.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo further medical information will be provided.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wish Fred a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back at the track soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following qualifying, deputy team principal Jerome D\u2019Ambrosio provided an update on Vasseur\u2019s condition, indicating there was no immediate cause for concern.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithout going into details he\u2019s okay. He\u2019ll undergo some checks today, but he\u2019s okay,\u201d he told Sky Sports.<\/p>\n

Vasseur\u2019s absence came during a busy day for Ferrari in Monaco, with the Italian squad entering the weekend among the favourites after showing strong pace throughout practice.<\/p>\n

However, Ferrari ultimately fell short of pole position in qualifying, with Lewis Hamilton securing third on the grid ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc in fourth.<\/p>\n

Leclerc had briefly held provisional pole late in the session before dropping behind Hamilton, pole-sitter Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen, before hitting the wall on his final flying lap and failing to improve.<\/p>\n
