2010s TV detective drama Beauty & the Beast has climbed Channel 5’s streaming chart after being added to the service. The show, which has been mostly forgotten since it ended a decade ago, is currently sitting at number 3 in the streaming charts. <\/p>\n

Beauty & the Beast ran from 2012 to 2016, airing four seasons on The CW in the US. <\/p>\n

The drama starred Smallville<\/a>‘s Kristin Kreuk, alongside It Chapter Two<\/a> actor Jay Ryan. It was developed by Sherri Cooper-Landsman and Jennifer Levin.<\/p>\n

The series was loosely based on the 1987 CBS series of the same name which starred Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton and ran for three seasons. The 80s show came in at number 17 in TV Guide<\/a>‘s poll of the ‘Top Cult Shows Ever’.<\/p>\n

Beauty & the Beast follows Catherine Chandler, an NYPD detective, who witnessed her mother’s murder and was almost killed herself until she was recused by a mysterious stranger. <\/p>\n

Nine years after her mother’s murder, Catherine is working on a case which leads her to Vincent Keller an ex-solider believed to have been killed in the line of duty and who is actually alive. <\/p>\n

Their meeting leads Catherine to discover more about her mother’s murder and who, or what, Vincent really is. <\/p>\n

On IMDB<\/a> the series has a 7 out of 10 rating with 242 user reviews. <\/p>\n

One fan wrote: “Beauty and the Beast 2012 isn’t like anything else on TV. Its storyline is refreshingly different and also quite divergent from previous versions of the Beauty and the Beast storyline.”<\/p>\n

“I watched this show so quick because I became obsessed. It truly captivates the viewer. The characters are amazing. The premise is amazing. I was so sad when I finished the last season. I wish they kept it going!” wrote another viewer. <\/p>\n

A third wrote that the show had “captivated me completely”. Adding: “I love everything about it. It’s a great combination of action and romance, drama and humour. Every episode is well balanced and can seamlessly take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. “<\/p>\n
