Google<\/a>\u00a0has introduced new features for its Gemini app designed for smaller businesses.<\/p>\n

\u201cRolling out globally this month, these updates transform Gemini into a deeply knowledgeable, in-pocket partner that natively understands your business and helps you get more done,\u201d the tech giant wrote on its\u00a0blog<\/a>\u00a0Wednesday (June 10).<\/p>\n

Among the new features is the ability to connect a company\u2019s Google Business Profile to Gemini, turning Gemini into an\u00a0AI assistant<\/a>\u00a0that has access to things such as customer reviews, customer questions and performance data.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis gives Gemini all the context it needs to provide recommendations and content that\u2019s relevant to your business, and allows you to offload complex,\u00a0time consuming tasks<\/a>,\u201d the blog post added.<\/p>\n

For example, a business owner could ask, \u201cHow did my business do this month?\u201d and Gemini will analyze their search impressions, direction requests, call data and customer engagement.<\/p>\n

Google is also introducing business \u201cNotebooks,\u201d designed to serve as a \u201cfocused space\u201d where business owners can organize chats, sources, their new Business Profile and website.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeyond just keeping things organized, the core value of this knowledge base is its grounding in your unique context,\u201d the company said. \u201cWith this understanding, you can quickly analyze business trends, generate creative assets that match your brand and use Gemini to brainstorm your next idea based on your customer reviews.\u201d<\/p>\n

PYMNTS wrote last month that smaller businesses represent a \u201ccritical\u00a0proving ground for AI<\/a>\u00a0because its constraints are different.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mid-market companies, that report added, don\u2019t often have the luxury of rebuilding systems from scratch. They run on thinner margins, depend on legacy software and focus on operational continuity before technological experimentation.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor these businesses, AI succeeds only if it becomes practical,\u201d PYMNTS wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn accountant reviewing compliance documents may care less about raw model size than whether AI can reduce reconciliation time without introducing\u00a0hallucinated data<\/a>. Teachers evaluating student writing need systems that fit within curriculum structures and administrative realities,\u201d the report added.<\/p>\n
