What a treat it is to exist at the same time as Ludwig G\u00f6ransson<\/a>. The legendary composer has been behind some of the most jaw-dropping scores of recent years. Fresh from last year\u2019s astonishing Sinners<\/a> soundtrack (for which he won his second Oscar, the other for Oppenheimer<\/a>), he\u2019s already given us the gift of his Mandalorian And Grogu<\/a> soundtrack this year, boasting an instant banger in the synth-heavy \u2018Shakari\u2019. And soon we\u2019ll get his latest collaboration with Christopher Nolan: The Odyssey<\/a>. As you\u2019d expect, they\u2019re cooking up something wild \u2013 take a look here:<\/p>\n

Well, that sounds incredible. G\u00f6ransson is going back to Ancient Greek instruments like the aulos and the lyre \u2013 and cross-referencing them against Ancient Greek artefacts to check their authenticity \u2013 in creating his latest soundscape. And banging big bronze gongs to channel that \u2018Bronze Age\u2019 feeling (see Nolan himself giving it a go in the featurette, standing next to cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema). Chuck electronic musician James Blake in there, and we\u2019re in for something truly wild. Could this make for the composer\u2019s third Best Score win at the Oscars?<\/p>\n

The Odyssey will be G\u00f6ransson\u2019s third time working with Nolan, their first project together being Tenet<\/a>.
