Pluribus creator Vince Gilligan has shared an update on the eagerly anticipated second season of his acclaimed Apple TV sci-fi drama \u2013 and it sounds as though fans shouldn’t expect new episodes imminently.<\/p>\n
The series, which stars Better Call Saul’s Rhea Seehorn as author Carol Sturka, became one of the most talked-about sci-fi shows of 2025.<\/p>\n
Pluribus follows Carol after a mysterious event links most of humanity into a blissful hive mind, leaving her as one of the few people still seemingly immune \u2013 and, by extension, one of the only people capable of resisting.<\/p>\n
While season 2 was already confirmed before the first run had even aired, Gilligan has now indicated that the writing process is still ongoing.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Deadline<\/a>, the Breaking Bad creator said: “We\u2019re about a little past the halfway point. My writers and I have figured out the episodes, and it always \u2013 every season on every show \u2013 starts out hard.<\/p>\n “And then you just stay with it long enough. I\u2019m starting to get to the point where I\u2019m thinking, I\u2019m looking forward to shooting this, and people seeing it, because I\u2019m kind of digging it.”<\/p>\n While Gilligan’s enthusiasm will be welcome news to fans, the fact that the season is only “a little past the halfway point” at the writing stage suggests it could still be some time before Carol returns to our screens.<\/p>\n Seehorn previously offered her own season 2 update<\/a> in an exclusive Radio Times<\/a> interview, saying the writers were “working their butts off” and admitting they were “sweating it” as they attempted to follow up the acclaimed first run.<\/p>\n For now, plot details for season 2 remain firmly under wraps \u2013 though after the show’s first run left fans with no shortage of questions about Carol, the hive mind and the wider world of Pluribus, expectations are understandably high.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/p>\n Pluribus is available to stream on Apple TV.
