Brooklyn issued a strongly worded statement on Instagram in January in which he insisted he did \u201cnot want to reconcile\u201d with his parents and accused them of attempting to control the public narrative surrounding their family\u2019s every movement.<\/p>\n
Brooklyn said at the time in his lengthy statement: \u201cI have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cUnfortunately my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brooklyn continued: \u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family. I\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
He later alleged his mother behaved \u201cin an inappropriate way\u201d during his wedding celebrations with Nicola in 2022, further fuelling reports of tensions between Nicola and Victoria that had circulated since the ceremony in Florida.<\/p>\n
David refused to talk about the feud in an interview with Variety to coincide with his Walk of Fame star.<\/p>\n
The 51-year-old former footballer was asked how he deals with the \u201cvicious\u201d media coverage about the \u201cstrife\u201d in his family, and he replied: \u201cTo be honest, I\u2019m sorry to stop you there, but that\u2019s a private matter.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s the one thing that I don\u2019t want to talk about.\u201d<\/p>\n
