{"id":478100,"date":"2026-06-15T08:30:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-15T08:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/478100\/"},"modified":"2026-06-15T08:30:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T08:30:10","slug":"bts-gift-bags-hit-resale-sites-angering-fans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/478100\/","title":{"rendered":"BTS gift bags hit resale sites, angering fans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">BUSAN \u2013 Gift bags handed out to those attending BTS\u2019 Busan concerts have quickly appeared on second-hand trading platforms, prompting anger among fans after some concertgoers failed to receive them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Posts offering the bags for resale on platforms such as Karrot and Bungaejangter, as well as on social media, appeared soon after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/life\/entertainment\/bts-marks-13th-anniversary-with-emotional-busan-homecoming?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\">BTS World Tour Arirang concerts<\/a> at Busan Asiad Main Stadium held on June 12 and 13.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The bags were given to fans as welcome gifts during the concerts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Packaged in a transparent bag, the set included bath towels, an umbrella, Laneige sheet masks, \u201c7\u201d and \u201c613\u201d perfumes designed by BTS, photo cards and a handwritten card from the members. A cushion foundation from make-up brand TirTir was also included in the bags handed out on June 13.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">\u201cThis time, we prepared the gifts with all our hearts,\u201d Jungkook wrote on the group\u2019s live-viewing platform before the June 12 concert. \u201cEvery member opened their wallet to choose the presents one by one. We hope everyone gets the gifts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Within hours, however, some of the gift bags were listed for resale. Prices ranged from around 140,000 won (S$118) to as high as 500,000 won. Not everyone got the gift bag. What are you doing?\u201d one user wrote on X in response to a resale post.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Another user wrote, \u201cThis is ridiculous. How could you sell a gift your boyfriend gave you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The backlash reflects how BTS fans often treat such gifts not only as merchandise, but as personal tokens from the artists \u2013 making resale feel, to many fans, like a breach of trust rather than a simple second-hand transaction.
