Besides the Chinese components, it looks like Huawei devices still rely on foreign tech parts to some extent.<\/p>\n<p>SemiAnalysis (via <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SemiconductorsX\/status\/2066339408354426950\" rel=\"nofollow\">SemiconductorX<\/a>) reported that Huawei <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huaweicentral.com\/kirin-9030-vs-kirin-9030-pro-major-differences-between-new-chips\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kirin 9030<\/a> chip uses both Chinese and Samsung LPDDR5X memory components for Mate 80 phones.<\/p>\n<p>Breaking it further, the report says that the Kirin 9030 Pro chip running on the 12GB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huaweicentral.com\/huawei-mate-80-pro-max-iphone-17-pro-max-camera\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mate 80 Pro<\/a> model has the Samsung K4L2E165YD (1a node) memory solution.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung Memory<\/p>\n<p>It is generally the LPDDR5X-9600 mobile <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huaweicentral.com\/huawei-smartphone-sales-growth-in-2026-report\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">DRAM<\/a> fabricated on a 1a node. It is the fourth generation of the company\u2019s 10 nm-class DRAM process and can deliver fast and power-efficient data processing. SemiAnalysis mentioned that:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Pro variant of the Kirin 9030 carries 12 GB of Samsung DRAM, with two stacks of four dies each. It is roughly equivalent to other 1z processes.<\/p>\n<p>The information suggests that CMXT is picking up in the game. It is ramping up with real memory chip production and can contribute to China\u2019s progress in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Kirin 9030 analysis reveals that some chip components are about 19-22% smaller than the previous version. As a result, the new chipset is faster and more efficient than the past variants. But it still lags compared to the latest mobile SoCs.<\/p>\n<p>Good news is that Huawei is taking a new approach in the chipmaking tech \u2013 LogicFolding design concept for 2026 Kirin chips.
