Supermodel Gisele B\u00fcndchen has opened up about the ways in which her life and her fashion career changed forever when she moved to Boston with her future husband, Tom Brady, who was in the midst of a storeyed quarterback career with the New England Patriots.<\/p>\n
The 45-year-old fashion star opened up about her past in a candid interview with W Magazine, during which she looked back on the many cover shoots she has posed for over the years, including one for the publication\u2019s 2007 issue, which was captured shortly after she began dating Brady.<\/p>\n
At the time, B\u00fcndchen\u2019s relationship with the NFL legend had only just been publicly revealed \u2013 leading to a frenzy of media excitement \u2013 however, the model notes that, behind the scenes, her decision to relocate to the Massachusetts city with her partner actually enabled her to enjoy a much \u201cquieter life,\u201d one that was filled with reflection.<\/p>\n
When asked about the \u201cgrowing spiritual practice\u201d she had embraced by this point in her career, the mother of three pointed to her new hometown as being one of the sources of this spirituality.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had moved to Boston and was living a much quieter life. Earlier in my career, everything was about achievement and saying yes to every opportunity. Over time, I began to understand the importance of finding balance,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
She noted that she learned how to \u201cbecome more present and more connected\u201d with herself instead of \u201cfocusing on external expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their daughter, Vivian, arrived in 2012.<\/p>\n The duo lived primarily in the Boston area for much of their marriage, with Brady continuing to play for the Patriots until 2020, when the quarterback signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after his contract with the New England team came to an end.<\/p>\n For several years, Brady and B\u00fcndchen\u2019s primary residence in Massachusetts was a stunning custom-built estate in Brookline, which was completed in 2015 \u2014 and was later put on the market by the spouses for $55.7 million (US39.5 million). They finally sold the dwelling for the much lower price of $45.9 million (US$32.5 million) in late 2020.<\/p>\n Months earlier, they had purchased an extraordinary property on Miami\u2019s Indian Creek Island \u2013 known to many as \u201cBillionaire Bunker\u201d because of its ultra wealthy residents \u2014 for $24 million (US$17 million), where they planned to construct an enormous custom compound that would serve as their primary residence.<\/p>\n Tom Brady and Gisele B\u00fcndchen attend the 2019 Hollywood For Science Gala in Los Angeles, California. Photo: Getty<\/p>\n MORE:\u2018No\u2019: Kanye, Bianca\u2019s shock demand to guests<\/a><\/p>\n The pair joined the likes of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos, and billionaire Jeffrey Soffer in choosing the exclusive enclave as his home base \u2014 and promptly followed in the footsteps of their neighbours by building a dream dwelling on their newly purchased parcel.<\/p>\n Brady and B\u00fcndchen immediately began working on an extensive renovation of the existing property, essentially demolishing the existing structure to make way for a modern dwelling that took around four years to complete.<\/p>\n But what began as a marital home has since become a very spacious and lavish bachelor pad for Brady after he and B\u00fcndchen divorced in October 2022, with the former football pro taking the Indian Creek Island property as part of their settlement.<\/p>\n However, his former spouse has not gone far away.<\/p>\n B\u00fcndchen, her new husband, jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, and their first child, now reside in an $16.25 million (US$11.5 million) Miami mansion, which is just a stone\u2019s throw away from her ex\u2019s Florida abode.<\/p>\n She purchased the property in 2022, shortly after her divorce, and spent months renovating the abode.<\/p>\n When she moved to Massachusetts, B\u00fcndchen had not yet wed Brady, 48, who was playing for the New England Patriots. The magnificent mansion features soaring 25-foot ceilings, large living spaces, massive terraces, and stunning views of a wide waterway and Indian Creek Island \u2014 where Brady\u2019s compound is located.<\/p>\n In fact, B\u00fcndchen\u2019s waterfront home is located within swimming distance of his home.<\/p>\n Other highlights include a primary bedroom on the ground floor with dual baths. There\u2019s also a home theatre, an office, a gym, playroom, and large eat-in kitchen that opens to a patio and pool. The property comes with a brand-new, oversized boat dock. This home also includes impact windows and a two-car garage.<\/p>\n She also owns an equestrian estate in Southwest Ranches, FL, which she picked up for a hefty $12.85 million (US$9.1 million) in 2023, as well as a second, smaller Surfside property that she purchased for $1.75 million (US$1.25 million).<\/p>\n Brady recently shed some light on his emotional struggle during their 2022 divorce, speaking out about their split in a January appearance on \u201cThe Herd\u201d with host Colin Cowherd.<\/p>\n Addressing the timing of his split from the fashion superstar, the sporting icon admitted that it had a rough impact on his final season in the NFL, which he played with the Buccaneers.<\/p>\n \u201cI had 23 years of [football] so I didn\u2019t think I was missing anything, retiring.<\/p>\n B\u00fcndchen is now married to jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente and the couple reside in Florida, with their child and the model\u2019s two kids from her marriage to Brady. I was 45 years old, I wanted to spend time with my kids, I felt like, OK, now it\u2019s time for me to be at all my kids\u2019 games. They\u2019ve been to enough of their dad\u2019s games.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMy last season was tough,\u201d he went on. \u201cI was going through, I had a lot of, you know, just a personal family issue.
