\u201cWe\u2019re closing our doors next week, making this weekend our last.\u201d<\/p>\n

The post says although it sees sold-out shows, \u201cwe live and die by our bar sales\u201d.<\/p>\n

That works when the economy is doing well, but in the current climate, \u201cpeople are drinking and spending less\u201d.<\/p>\n

The venue says it\u2019s \u201cgutted\u201d by the decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur nightlife and local music scene is vital to the lifeblood of our city, and Neck of the Woods is an integral part of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The venue was booked out until July 18, with international bands expected to perform.<\/p>\n

In its post, the venue acknowledged the disruption it will cause promoters that had gigs booked in.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019ve bought a ticket, we can reassure you that we will work with promoters to make sure you know where that gig is moving to or if tickets are being refunded.\u201d<\/p>\n

The venue thanked those who had made the venue what it was and helped open it in 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut this is where the Neck of the Woods story ends \u2026 at least for now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the closure of Flying Out Record Store, situated just off K Road<\/a>, was also announced Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the last few years, a pandemic, [three] festival cancellations, the effects of ongoing roadworks, the CRL construction and the continuing economic downturn has become an unpleasant, perfect storm,\u201d they said on social media.<\/p>\n

In April, iconic K Road bar and cafe Verona, which also hosted live music, went into liquidation after 34 years.<\/p>\n
