Last month, the NZ Super Fund moved in to occupy the entire block, owned by Cooper and Company.<\/p>\n

Studio Pacific Architecture won a commercial award for the new Air New Zealand Hangar 4 <\/a>at Auckland Airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The institute described the building as the largest single-span timber arch aircraft hangar in the Southern Hemisphere.<\/p>\n

Warren and Mahoney won an interior award for the new $300m Te Paeroa o Te Kawau Beca House<\/a> on the waterfront.<\/p>\n

Precinct Properties<\/a> developed that block whose name means the shoreline of the kawau.<\/p>\n

\"BecaBeca House, the final stage of the Wynyard Quarter Innovation Precinct.<\/p>\n

Commercial winners:<\/p>\n

50 Albert St<\/a>, Architectus, developed by Mansons TCLM;Air New Zealand Hangar 4, Studio Pacific Architecture;Atlas Headquarters at Wairau Park, JWA Architects;Chief Post Office refurbishment, Cheshire Architects, developed by Cooper and Company;Wynyard Quayside by Warren and Mahoney.\"NewNew offices at 50 Albert St, Auckland CBD won Architectus an Auckland area award from the Institute of Architects. Heritage winners<\/p>\n

Seven entries won heritage awards. <\/p>\n

That was the most in this category since 2008 and represented the strength and renewed focus on preserving older buildings in Auckland\u2019s ongoing redevelopment, the institute said.<\/p>\n

Hospitality winners<\/p>\n

Awards in this category only went to new buildings at the $50m Te Arai golf course north of Auckland, developed by American billionaire Ric Kayne<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Multi-unit housing winners<\/p>\n

45 Mt Eden Rd by ASC Architects;Community Lane, Avondale by Architectus;Exhibit On Jervois, Herne Bay by Monk Mackenzie;Greenslade Court, Northcote by Monk Mackenzie;Karori, \u014cr\u0101kei by +MAP Architects;Rongo Te Ata, Pukekohe by Ashton Mitchell.\" Rongo Te Ata, a residential development in Pukekohe. A number of entries came from Northland, the institute said.<\/p>\n

One went to Whang\u0101rei for public architecture in the new bus station on Rose St.<\/p>\n

Jury convenor and architect Rachael Rush of Klein Architects said the entries showed the transformative impact architecture could have on people\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n

Architects shape cities, support investment and create communities, she said. <\/p>\n
