Industrial designers need to have fun, too. Here Canadian ID’er Jamie Wolfond<\/a> unveils his tongue-in-cheek Tactical Coat Rack:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A free-standing coat rack is essentially a portable solution to the wall-mounted coat hook. Tactical Coat Rack takes this idea to its extreme. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Designed by abstracting the mechanism of a ubiquitous tripod, Tactical Coat Rack can be shipped in a tube, easily deployed, and tucked away just as easily when no longer needed. The resulting product is equal parts silly and serious, which as it turns out are not mutually exclusive.<\/p>\n

Wolfond created it for Objects May Vary<\/a>, an annual design exhibition platform. The rack will be unveiled at 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen. <\/p>\n
