The staff for the television anime<\/a> of K\u014dcha Agasawa<\/a>‘s romantic comedy manga You and I Are Polar Opposites<\/a> (Seihantaina Kimi to Boku) presented the second<\/a> season’s third trailer with English subtitles on Friday. The trailer reveals and previews the anime’s ending theme song “Unmei no Kimi” (“You are the one”) by Mega Shinnosuke<\/a>.<\/p>\n

MANGA Plus<\/a> published the manga series in English and describes the story:<\/p>\n

Suzuki, an energetic girl who can’t help but follow the crowd, finds herself drawn to Tani, a quiet boy who can easily speak his mind. Enter: the serialization of a hit one-shot! A story for anyone who wants to enjoy love! This down-to-earth, relatable rom-com is ready to pull at your heartstrings!<\/p>\n

Takakazu Nagatomo<\/a> is directing the anime at Lapin Track<\/a>. Teruko Utsumi<\/a> (Sarazanmai<\/a>) is writing the scripts and is also serving as animation producer. Mako Miyako<\/a> is designing the characters. Naho Kozono<\/a> (Golden Kamuy<\/a>) is the sub-character designer, and is also the chief animation director, along with Sayuri Sakimoto<\/a> (Orient<\/a>). The musician tofubeats<\/a> is composing the music.<\/p>\n

Chieko Nakamura<\/a> (Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence<\/a>) is directing the art. Tomoyuki Shiokawa<\/a> (The Promised Neverland<\/a>) is the compositing director of photography. Yuki Akimoto<\/a> (SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary<\/a>) is the color key artist. Yuushi Koshida<\/a> (My Happy Marriage<\/a>) is serving as 3D director. Masayuki Kurosawa<\/a> (Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez<\/a>) is editing. Wataru Osakabe<\/a> (Pompo: The Cin\u00e9phile<\/a>) is handling 2D design. SHOCHIKU anime<\/a> is overseeing the production.\u00a0First season main animator Tamami Izawa<\/a> and Sara Sakoe<\/a> (Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill<\/a>, A Star Brighter Than the Sun<\/a>) join the second season staff as additional chief animation directors. Eriko Kimura<\/a> (Call of the Night<\/a> two seasons, DAN DA DAN<\/a> two seasons) is the sound director.\u00a0Artist 7co<\/a> (read as Nanako) will perform<\/a> the opening theme song “Nekojarashi.”<\/p>\n

The anime’s second season will debut on July 5 on MBS<\/a> and TBS<\/a> and 26 other networks on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. JST. Crunchyroll<\/a> will stream<\/a> the new season.<\/p>\n

The first season debuted on January 11 on MBS, TBS, and their affiliates, and aired on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. JST. The series streamed on ABEMA<\/a> in Japan at 5:30 p.m. JST on Sundays. Crunchyroll streamed<\/a> the series as it aired, and also streamed a same-day English dub<\/a>. The series also streamed in partnership with Animax<\/a> Broadcasting Korea and Medialink.<\/p>\n

Agasawa launched<\/a> the manga on Shueisha<\/a>‘s Shonen Jump+<\/a> platform in May 2022. The manga originally launched<\/a> as a one-shot on the website in January 2021. The manga ended<\/a> in November 2024. Shueisha shipped the eighth and final compiled book volume in March 2025.<\/p>\n

Viz Media<\/a> also publishes<\/a> the series in English.<\/p>\n

The series has over 1.8 million copies in circulation (including digital copies). The manga ranked<\/a> #3 in the 16th Manga Taisho Awards in 2023, and<\/a> #7 in the 17th Manga Taisho Awards in 2024.<\/p>\n
