An Air New Zealand plane is stuck in soft ground at Christchurch Airport after it was pushed off its stand this morning. <\/p>\n
\n The flight to Auckland was preparing to depart when, during pushback, the aircraft\u2019s main wheels came into contact with the grass beside the taxiway, Air New Zealand
\n chief safety and risk officer Nathan McGraw said.\n <\/p>\n
\u201cThe aircraft has remained in place, and customers have all disembarked safely.\u201d <\/p>\n
The airline was working to arrange a new flight for affected customers and to get the plane to the gate so bags can be unloaded and an engineering assessment completed, McGraw said. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\u200c Subscribe to listenAccess to Herald Premium articles require a Premium subscription.
