A man has been charged after a grievous assault in east Auckland left one person critically injured.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were called to Caen Rd in Panmure at around 6.30pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Detective Senior Sergeant Ash Matthews said one person was taken to hospital with critical injuries.<\/p>\n
“A 28-year-old man has been taken into custody in relation to the incident.”<\/p>\n
Early indications suggested the pair were known to each other, he said.<\/p>\n
“Panmure residents can expect to see an increased presence in the area as police continue to investigate this matter.”<\/p>\n
A 28-year-old man was due to appear in Auckland District Court on June 22, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n
A St John spokesperson said it deployed one ambulance, one rapid response unit, and one manager to the scene. <\/p>\n
