The driver faces one charge of dangerous driving causing death and four charges of dangerous driving causing injury.<\/p>\n
She was granted interim name suppression when she first appeared before a registrar last month.<\/p>\n
Her lawyer, Lisa Robertson, asked Judge David Cameron if name suppression could continue as the passenger, who was also charged, would be the subject of a name suppression hearing on August 19 and the two matters should be heard alongside each other.<\/p>\n
Robertson said she was still waiting for a report to be done on the woman\u2019s mental health capacity before she pleaded to the charges.<\/p>\n
Judge Cameron remanded the woman on continued bail to reappear on August 19.<\/p>\n
The charge relating to dangerous driving causing death carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years or a $20,000 fine, while the charges relating to dangerous driving causing injury carry a maximum prison sentence of five years\u2019 jail or a $20,000 fine.<\/p>\n
The passenger faces counts of being a party to dangerous driving causing death, four charges of being a party to dangerous driving causing injury and attempting to pervert the course of justice.<\/p>\n
Charging documents showed the passenger allegedly wilfully attempted to obstruct the course of justice on the day of the crash by removing a canister of nitrous oxide gas, colloquially known as a nang, from a silver Toyota Lexus that was involved in a fatal and serious injury crash.<\/p>\n
