Jacinda Ardern and Clarke Gayford’s home in the Auckland suburb of Sandringham is up for sale.<\/p>\n
There is no mention or a hint of the famous owner in the listing\u2019s description.<\/p>\n
Ardern confirmed her move to Sydney earlier this year and told Australian media this month that she was enjoying living a private life across the Ditch.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s so many similarities between Kiwis and Aussies and so it\u2019s so like home in so many ways,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople have been so welcoming.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, it\u2019s probably been our favourite bit, and then the beach.\u201d<\/p>\n Ardern moved into the Sandringham home in early 2018 with partner Clarke Gayford \u2013 now her husband \u2013 in anticipation of the birth of their first child, Neve Te Aroha. That followed Ardern\u2019s sudden rise to the Labour leadership and election as Prime Minister in 2017. Ardern spent nearly six years in the top job, and events that shaped her leadership included the White Island eruption, the Christchurch mosque terror attacks and the Covid-19 pandemic. She retired from politics before the end of her second term, saying she had \u201cnothing left in the tank<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n Online records at the time show that when Ardern and Gayford purchased the Sandringham home it was valued at $1.7 million. The current listing\u2019s information shows the property has a capital value of $2.3m and a land value of $1.8m.<\/p>\n Photographs of the four-bedroom property show a beautiful and modern home with an enchanting forest-like backyard.<\/p>\n A tree house can be seen tucked into a large pohutukawa out the back, which was already there when the family moved in eight years ago. <\/p>\n A newer playhouse stands neatly beside the backyard deck and appears to be painted in the same colours as the house.<\/p>\n
