{"id":490541,"date":"2026-06-22T22:04:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T22:04:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/490541\/"},"modified":"2026-06-22T22:04:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T22:04:08","slug":"national-award-for-worcestershires-mental-health-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/490541\/","title":{"rendered":"National award for Worcestershire&#8217;s mental health work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Worcestershire&#8217;s director of public health has won a national award for promoting mental health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Lisa McNally was given the Sarah Stewart Brown Award for Public Mental Health by the Faculty of Public Health.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The award was for work to promote better mental health by working directly with communities, encouraging local groups to provide support in their local area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">McNally said it should be seen as a collective award which &#8220;reflects a lot of great work from the Worcestershire public health team and community groups across the county&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The award also highlights the director&#8217;s work nationally, campaigning for more attention to addressing mental health in all ages, as well as promotional work to reduce stigma around mental health.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Councillor Alan Bailes, Worcestershire County Council&#8217;s cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: &#8220;This achievement is a testament not only to Lisa&#8217;s personal dedication and leadership, but also to the hard work and commitment of the wider public health team.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Worcestershire&#8217;s director of public health has won a national award for promoting mental health and wellbeing.
