It\u2019s enough to make you feel cold just thinking about it!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wildlife photographer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/fbimages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Felix Belloin<\/a>\u00a0shared a video on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DUAb0PpgskB\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Instagram<\/a>\u00a0that brings to life just how well these bulky creatures can withstand extreme cold.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the footage, which he captions \u201cweathering the storm\u201d, a musk ox can be seen standing resolutely against a snowy landscape as tearing winds howl around it and dash ice onto its fur like it\u2019s trapped in a snow globe.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne key to their hardiness is their extraordinary fur which consists of two layers,\u201d writes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/gaar\/learn\/nature\/muskox-designed-for-the-arctic.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the\u00a0Gates of the Arctic National Park &amp; Preserve<\/a>\u00a0on its website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe very long outer hair is the longest fur of any North American animal; and the thick woolly coat of underfur \u2013 known by the Eskimo name Qiviut \u2013 is eight times warmer than sheep\u2019s wool.
