Back in April, a report <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/apple_to_use_foldable_panels_made_by_samsung_display-news-72304.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">claimed<\/a> that Apple had selected Samsung Display as the exclusive supplier of foldable OLED panels for the device.<\/p>\n<p>According to a new report from the same source, Samsung Display has now received approval to begin OLED panel production after achieving over 80% manufacturing yield.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-image\" width=\"1200\" height=\"621\" alt=\"Alleged iPhone Ultra render (Credit - FrontPageTech)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1782192969_568_gsmarena_001.jpg\"\/><br \/>\nAlleged iPhone Ultra render (Credit &#8211; FrontPageTech)<\/p>\n<p>The report adds that Samsung Display&#8217;s manufacturing facility in Vietnam has already begun operations. Apple has reportedly asked the company to produce an initial batch of 3 million OLED panels this year.<\/p>\n<p>While an earlier report claimed that Apple would use Samsung Display&#8217;s M14 display stack for its first foldable iPhone, the latest report suggests the company has opted for the newer M16 luminescent material instead.<\/p>\n<p>The M16 stack is reported to deliver higher brightness, improved color reproduction, better power efficiency, and a longer lifespan.
