told the court<\/a> that on the morning of May 6, 2025, he was doing the washing when he heard somebody arguing in the backyard.<\/p>\nHe thought it was Robson, because he recognised his voice, and guessed he was bickering with Hepi\u2019s brother.<\/p>\n
Moments later, Hepi said Robson came running around the corner yelling and with blood \u201cp****ing out of his neck\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe just said, \u2018ah, some b**** stabbed me\u2019,\u201d Hepi recalled.<\/p>\n
Hepi sat the man down on his front step, fetched a towel to stop the blood and called 111.<\/p>\n
At some point, a teen came out to help stop the bleeding and Hepi ran into the sleepout to check if anyone was still there.<\/p>\n
On his way back to the main house, he said he saw a hooded figure he didn\u2019t recognise at the gate, but said he was too distracted by saving Robson to engage.<\/p>\n
Crown prosecutor Aysser Al-Janabi reminded Hepi of his police statement, where the man said he told the figure to \u201cf*** off\u201d.<\/p>\n
Hepi accepted that was true and said the figure was most likely female as he remembered them having long hair.<\/p>\n
Defence lawyer Susan Giles asked Hepi about the makeshift gym he had in his backyard.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey look like some pretty heavy weights … wouldn\u2019t you agree?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n
You have to be pretty strong to lift those weights, Giles continued, and Hepi agreed.<\/p>\n
She asked if he thought Robson was \u201cpretty strong\u201d, to which Hepi said, \u201cto a degree\u201d but he had only seen him use the gym area once, for a short period.<\/p>\n
The 111 call<\/p>\n
The court was played the 111 call where Hepi could be heard repeatedly, and with increased urgency, asking for an ambulance to \u201churry\u201d.<\/p>\n
Robson could be heard speaking and moaning in the background.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know where she is, she\u2019s f***ing gone,\u201d Hepi said to the operator of the woman who stabbed Robson.<\/p>\n
When the ambulance arrived about eight minutes into the call, Hepi could be heard expressing his frustration when they seemed to pass by the address.<\/p>\n
The operator assured him they were probably doing a U-turn.<\/p>\n
Hepi was on home detention and couldn\u2019t leave the property but could be heard in the call yelling out to the ambulance staff.<\/p>\n
\u201cHurry up ya f***in\u2019 egg,\u201d he could be heard shouting.<\/p>\n
The operator warned the man to calm down because the first responders might stay away if they felt threatened.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re kind of experiencing something right now, miss,\u201d the teen told the operator over the phone. \u201cYou gotta understand that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hepi could then be heard saying: \u201cBro, these clowns don\u2019t even give a f*** about him\u201d.<\/p>\n
When the operator insisted that they did, Hepi responded: \u201cWell they aren\u2019t f***ing rushing anyway … they\u2019re taking their f***ing time\u201d.<\/p>\n
Woman seen \u2018looking lost\u2019<\/p>\n
The teenager, who was at the property that day, took the stand with an older support person seated next to him.<\/p>\n
He said he remembered hearing someone arguing outside and words to the effect of \u201cyou f***in\u2019 stabbed me, b****\u201d.<\/p>\n
Crown prosecutor Samuel Cox then referred the teen to his police statement, taken on the day of the stabbing, which said he had also heard a female voice respond.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow I remember,\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n
He said he had heard a woman say something like \u201cyeah, you f***ing c***\u201d.<\/p>\n
He said he saw a woman standing just outside the gate on the street.<\/p>\n
\u201c[She was] facing outside … she was just staring … she looked like a lost soul,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot yelling, standing there looking quiet as. Looking lost really.\u201d<\/p>\n
He recalled the woman was wearing a blanket around her waist and her hair was dirty.<\/p>\n
Giles asked him if he remembered the defendant or knew that she had been staying in the sleepout with Robson, to which he replied \u201cdunno\u201d.<\/p>\n
Giles suggested he was mistaken about hearing a woman\u2019s voice arguing in the morning or saying anything about a \u201cdumb c***\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s a lie \u2019cause I did hear that,\u201d the teen said. \u201cYou weren\u2019t there that day, I was.\u201d<\/p>\n
Loud yelling<\/p>\n
The third witness was Amanda Petersen, a member of the public who lived in the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n
She said on the morning of Robson\u2019s death she was driving by his Mahia Rd, Manurewa, address about 10am when a woman on the street caught her attention.<\/p>\n
The woman was yelling loudly, wearing what appeared to be a rug tied around her waist with a white string, and socks with no shoes, Petersen said.<\/p>\n
She observed the woman walk around the corner and continue to yell over the fence, Petersen said.<\/p>\n
She later gave that account to police, the court heard.<\/p>\n
The trial continues.<\/p>\n
