The Sandringham home owned by Dame Jacinda Ardern and her husband Clarke Gayford is up for sale.<\/p>\n
The 1930s, four bedroom, two bathroom bungalow is listed as up for auction on 8 July.<\/p>\n
The Sandringham house was sold to the couple in 2018 for $1.74m and has a current value of $2.21m, according to OneRoof.<\/p>\n
The property listing describes the home as having “traditional weatherboard charm” with the addition of a modern extension.<\/p>\n
In February, a statement on behalf of Dame Jacinda said she and her family had been travelling “for a few years now”.<\/p>\n
“For the moment they’re basing themselves out of Australia – they have work there, and it brings the added bonus of more time back home in New Zealand,” it read.<\/p>\n
An Australian real estate website reported Ardern had been house hunting for properties in Sydney’s northern beaches, looking at homes for sale in Curl Curl and Freshwater.<\/p>\n
Dame Jacinda, Gayford and their now eight-year-old daughter, Neve Te Aroha, were previously based in the US where Ardern was appointed to two fellowships at Harvard University.<\/p>\n
Dame Jacinda was elected as prime minister in 2017 during which time she dealt with dealt with a natural disaster, a terror attack, a global pandemic and two election victories before retiring at the end of her second term, saying she didn’t have “enough left in the tank”.<\/p>\n
She became New Zealand’s third female prime minister and the world’s youngest female head of government at age 37.<\/p>\n
Dame Jacinda recently released a memoir, A Different Kind of Power, and a children’s book, Mum’s Busy Work.
