Hip-hop sensation Wiz Khalifa will take the stage at both of Illinois’ state fairs this summer, organizers announced on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
The GRAMMY and Golden Globe-nominated artist is set to perform at both on Aug. 19 at the Illinois State Fair Grandstand in Springfield and on Aug. 29 at the Du Quoin State Fair Grandstand.<\/p>\n
\u201cBringing an artist like Wiz Khalifa to both Springfield and Du Quoin shows the strength and reach of our state fairs,\u201d said Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II. \u201cThese fairs continue to attract nationally recognized entertainers and provide fairgoers across Illinois the chance to experience major live performances close to home. Whether you\u2019re in Central Illinois or Southern Illinois, these concerts help make our fairs true entertainment destinations each summer.\u201d<\/p>\n
Khalifa rose to fame in 2011 after the release of Rolling Papers, his major label debut album that featured global hits such as \u201cBlack and Yellow,\u201d \u201cRoll Up,\u201d and \u201cNo Sleep.” Since then, he’s released several popular tracks, including \u201cSee You Again,\u201d which topped charts in 95 countries.<\/p>\n
Tickets for both performances will be sold through Ticketmaster. <\/p>\n
Du Quoin State Fair tickets are available now via Ticketmaster, with prices ranging from $45 to $55 depending on the ticket tier. <\/p>\n
Illinois State Fair tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on June 27.
