\u201cWhen Reev arrived, there were lots of tears, and high-pitched \u2018hiiiii\u2019s\u2019 as we both stared at him in disbelief,\u201d Cruickshank tells Society Insider. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was one of those moments that feels impossible to put into words.\u201d <\/p>\n

The pair, both 36, met at the gym in 2024 and were engaged in April last year on Waiheke Island<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Last October, Cruickshank, owner of Ponsonby\u2019s Diamond Shop, told Society Insider about the miscarriage<\/a> she and Foster suffered, as well as the ongoing efforts to clear his name. <\/p>\n

In the coming months Foster intends to do a podcast interview, where he will talk for the first time about his conviction. <\/p>\n

Foster was convicted in 2020 of indecently assaulting and sexually violating a police colleague at a motel in Northland in 2019. <\/p>\n

He served two years of a six-year sentence and was released on electronically monitored parole in March 2022. <\/p>\n

The couple are continuing the lengthy process of submitting applications to the Criminal Cases Review Commission, in an attempt to overturn Foster\u2019s conviction. <\/p>\n

High-profile investigator Tim McKinnel<\/a>, of leading investigation firm Zav\u00e9st, began preparing applications in October last year. <\/p>\n

\u201cA major focus for us is continuing the process of overturning his conviction and pursuing the next steps in that journey this year,\u201d Cruickshank tells Society Insider. <\/p>\n

\u201cAlongside that, Jamie is preparing to share his story publicly for the first time. <\/p>\n

\u201cHearing directly from him through a podcast in the coming months will be a significant milestone, not only for him personally, but for our family as a whole.\u201d <\/p>\n

Last September, the couple repositioned a Ponsonby villa to a waterfront property owned by Foster on the North Shore. <\/p>\n

Although it is still being renovated, Cruickshank says she had a home water birth. <\/p>\n

Foster already has a daughter from a past relationship, while Cruickshank has a boy and a girl. <\/p>\n

\u201cAfter such a long journey with the house, it felt like everything came together at once. <\/p>\n

Cruickshank says Reev looks like his father. <\/p>\n

\u201cGiven everything Jamie has been through, having another child once felt like a very distant dream. <\/p>\n

\u201cTo see him here now, living this reality, has been deeply emotional.\u201d <\/p>\n

Continuing a tradition she started for each of her children, Cruickshank has designed a piece for Reev, which will be available through The Diamond Shop. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Reev Ring is a timeless signet ring that I originally designed as a pinky ring, although it is completely unisex and can be custom-made in a range of sizes. It felt like the perfect heirloom piece to name after our son.\u201d <\/p>\n

On Saturday, Cruickshank finished her leave and returned to work. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe time I had at home with Reev was truly some of the best days of my life, and I am so grateful to my family and staff for that time away.\u201d <\/p>\n

Cruickshank says Foster has managed to work full time as a builder this year, and complete his studies and the paperwork to qualify as a private investigator. <\/p>\n

The pair are now planning a wedding, which Cruickshank says will be traditional and elegant, surrounded by their closest family and friends, with their children at the centre of the day. <\/p>\n

\u201cAfter everything we\u2019ve experienced as a couple, it feels important that the focus isn\u2019t on putting on a big event, but on being present, making memories, and genuinely enjoying the day together.\u201d <\/p>\n

Kiwi fashion heiress marries UK hotel heir in Sicily <\/p>\n

The Sicilian city of Palermo came to a standstill coming into May, as European aristocracy, socialites and the fashion elite descended for the society wedding of the season. <\/p>\n

And at the altar was a Kiwi. <\/p>\n

A guest list of more than 300, which included British royals, watched on as designer Georgie Wright married Charles Forte. <\/p>\n

The London-based handbag designer is the great-granddaughter of Hugh Wright (the founder of the famous NZ fashion dynasty Hugh Wright Ltd) and daughter of fashion titan David Wright, the former owner of Max Fashions. <\/p>\n

Her marriage to Charles Forte puts her at the centre of one of Europe\u2019s most wealthy, and private, dynastic families. Forte is the son of Sir Rocco Forte, founder and chairman of family-owned luxury hotel group Rocco Forte Hotels, with an estimated net worth of more than $700 million. <\/p>\n

Georgie and Charles and their guests took over the entire luxury family hotel Villa Igiea, the same hotel Dua Lipa and Callum Turner\u2019s guests stayed at for their wedding last week. <\/p>\n

UK society bible Tatler called Georgie and Charles\u2019 nuptials the wedding of the season, with guests including Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank. However, it was Vogue that Georgie chose to document her celebrations. <\/p>\n

Her extremely private, mainly London-based family all appeared in the extensive Vogue spread. <\/p>\n

\u201cI knew Georgie was getting married, but I didn\u2019t realise there would be a massive Vogue spread, with the whole Wright family featuring,\u201d one New Zeasland-based associate of the family tells Society Insider. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s very un-David-like. In all his years in business, there are very few, if any, pictures of him.\u201d <\/p>\n

David Wright and his wife Angela, with their three daughters, Olivia, Lucy and Georgie, moved from Auckland and made London their main base in 2006. <\/p>\n

Since then, the Wrights have travelled home to New Zealand for summer holidays at their bach at Matarangi in the Coromandel. <\/p>\n

They are known to be friendly with the families of merchant bankers David Richwhite and Sir Michael Fay \u2013 the pair\u2019s Great Mercury Island spread looks back at Matarangi. <\/p>\n

Richwhite is said to own a house around the corner from the Wrights in one of London\u2019s wealthiest suburbs, West Kensington. <\/p>\n

In 2010, the Wrights sold their mansion on St Stephen\u2019s Ave, Parnell, and in 2018 purchased a penthouse apartment on Halsey St in central Auckland\u2019s Wynyard Quarter. <\/p>\n

All three Wright daughters attended St Cuthbert\u2019s in Auckland and have kept up friendships with their private school circles over the years. <\/p>\n

Georgie has known Charles, the vice-president of development at Rocco Forte Hotels, for nine years. <\/p>\n

During that time, Charles worked his way up in the family business, while Georgie has carved out a fashion career of her own, working with Vogue and fashion houses including McQueen and Celine. Late last year, Georgie launched a luxury handbag label, The Veil, with her friend of 10 years, top UK model, actor and activist Adwoa Aboah. <\/p>\n

Charles proposed to Georgie on the Island of Mustique in 2024. <\/p>\n

During its 2021 reopening, Charles lived at Villa Igiea for several months, with Wright telling Vogue that she popped back and forth \u201cto see the villa\u2019s turrets and terraces come to life\u201d. <\/p>\n

The pair and their guests took over the entire hotel, a 19th-century palazzo, with rooms costing $1600-$4000 per night and views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. They chose Palermo\u2019s Cattedrale di Monreale for the ceremony. <\/p>\n

Charles\u2019 mother, Lady Aliai Forte, helped secure the Benedictine Cloister for the wedding dinner. Along with the cathedral, it is regarded as one of Sicily\u2019s most important and beautiful landmarks. <\/p>\n

Wright designed all of the dresses she wore during the two days of celebrations. The iconic Ascot dress, worn by Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady, was an inspiration for the wedding dress itself. <\/p>\n

Wright also designed the blue, empire-style dresses for her maids of honour \u2013 sisters Olivia and Lucy, and Ruby Boglione, the youngest daughter of London\u2019s Petersham Nurseries founders and hospitality entrepreneurs, Gael and Francesco. <\/p>\n

In a nod to her homeland, the wedding cake was a giant pavlova. <\/p>\n

Now Is the Time: Arts Gala 2026 raises $285,000 for the arts <\/p>\n

Saturday night at Auckland Town Hall was one to remember, as more than 320 artists, arts supporters and changemakers gathered for the Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi Arts Gala 2026, presented by ASB Invest. <\/p>\n

Held under the theme Now Is the Time, the fundraiser brought together some of New Zealand\u2019s leading creative voices. <\/p>\n

Guests enjoyed a four-course dinner by Josh Emett and Glen File from Gilt Brasserie, accompanied by Craggy Range Prestige wines, Champagne Taittinger and Hummingbird Coffee espresso martinis. <\/p>\n

Leading agency Special PR threw its fifth-birthday bash last Thursday at Studio 230, on Ponsonby Rd, where 150 clients, media and friends gathered to toast Kelly Grindle and his team. <\/p>\n

Guests were poured Cloudy Bay Pelorus and Minuty ros\u00e9, Heineken cocktails, Heineken, Monteith\u2019s and Export Ultra. And in a nod to one of the agency\u2019s best-loved clients, the kitchen sent out a late-night run of KFC Zinger burgers and popcorn chicken. <\/p>\n

Among those raising a glass were Moet Hennessy NZ and Pacific Islands GM Lisa MacKenzie and Cloudy Bay global brand manager Rachel Beere, Air New Zealand head of communications Elle Holdich and head of brand Kathryn Cunningham; Whittaker\u2019s chief marketing officer Soraya Cottin; and Restaurant Brands\u2019 KFC marketing director Leanne Too.
