However, he didn\u2019t think about his diagnosis much until later in his life and he praised O\u2019Neill for helping him navigate the world.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI thought everyone was odd except for me, because people would react in ways that I didn\u2019t understand.<\/p>\n
\u201c[Years later] Gemma started talking about Asperger\u2019s and I went, \u2018Oh yeah, I\u2019ve got that\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201c[She would] let me know when I was being Asperger\u2019s-y [in public] with a kick under the table or a squeeze on the arm.<\/p>\n
\u201c[I know how] that when I meet somebody for the first time I should probably ask what they do for a living because that shows interest. <\/p>\n
\u201cI said to my kids a few months ago, \u2018I don\u2019t think I have it any more. I don\u2019t think anyone would tell.\u2019 Persia said, \u2018You\u2019re f****** joking\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
Numan believes there is a connection between his autism and passion for technology.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI see personality in machine\u201d.<\/p>\n
Of his days flying planes, he added: \u201cI developed a very close relationship with the airplane, which sounds weird. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not like I wanted to have sex with it or marry it, but I talked to it and I would always say thank you at the end of the flight.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy relationships with people are different. If someone lets me down, that person ceases to exist. Gemma says, \u2018How can you do that?
