Kmart<\/a> shoppers have wasted no time in snapping up a chic new $19 lamp<\/a> that’s only been available for a few hours.<\/p>\n

The brown Marble Portable Rechargeable Lamp is part of the retailer’s new homewares range<\/a> and, while it’s smaller than average, it’ll be a stylish new addition to your home.<\/p>\n

The new item was scheduled to launch nationwide on June 22, but a delay meant it didn’t hit shelves or the website until days later, which sent shoppers into meltdown online.<\/p>\n

By Friday morning, it was completely sold out online and at selected stores.<\/p>\n

Sydney shopper Christie Allen<\/a> was among the lucky ones who managed to get their hands on the product.<\/p>\n

“I hit the Kmart jackpot. Last one on the shelf. I can literally hear people asking staff if they have any more,” she said in a TikTok.<\/p>\n

“Kid you not, people are literally stalking me in the shops asking me where I got it from. I feel like I’m holding something illegal right now.”<\/p>\n

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, the 31-year-old said three people had asked her where she found the lamp in the store.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne person walked past and said, \u2018Oh you got lucky\u2019,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were so many women asking staff if they had any stock that I could overhear from the next aisle – staff were overwhelmed I think.\u201d<\/p>\n

Videos have also flooded social media, with customers sharing their disappointment after missing out on the product when it sold out.<\/p>\n

Tegan Porter managed to get it before the general public and told Yahoo Lifestyle she was pleasantly surprised by the lamp’s quality, noting the rechargeable feature was a “huge selling point”.<\/p>\n

“I was actually really impressed with it, especially for the price,” she said.<\/p>\n

“The marble base gives it a much more premium feel than I expected from a Kmart homeware item, and it definitely feels sturdy and well-made.”<\/p>\n

The chic yet affordable lamp has three lighting settings, which you can flick through with a gentle touch on the top sensor.<\/p>\n

It’s rechargeable and comes with a USB cable, so you don’t need to worry about batteries or any long cables.<\/p>\n

Tegan praised the cordless design, telling Yahoo Lifestyle it was easy to move throughout the home without worrying about power points or messy cables.<\/p>\n

“So far, the charge has lasted quite well for me,” she said.<\/p>\n

Nicholas Holmes is a product buyer for Kmart and helped bring the lamp to shelves around the country.<\/p>\n

He said the retailer is going for an “aspiration trend” and told Yahoo Lifestyle the lamp is a perfect addition because it’s made from “real marble”.<\/p>\n

“It’s got real weight to it,” Nicholas said.<\/p>\n
