In early June, Williams had posted a lengthy video to his Instagram followers before his fourth neck surgery<\/a>, warning parents and their children about the reality of being a professional athlete.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a reminder for young athletes and parents pushing them to pursue a career as a professional athlete,\u201d Williams said at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnderstand this is the reality sometimes of this sport that we love and that we play.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then shocked fans later in the month by announcing he had returned to hospital<\/a> after complications with the previous surgery.<\/p>\n

\u201cA few days later, woke up in the morning, fever, spewing, pus coming out of my wound,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy wound got infected from the surgery, so I had to rush up to the hospital, went up to the emergency ward.\u201d<\/p>\n

He later updated fans with a comment on the same post where he reflected on how hard his return to hospital had hit him.<\/p>\n
