She said: \u201cLately it\u2019s been hard because of my record and so many things connected to it. But I do like to take breaks \u2026 and disappear. Because that\u2019s how you fuel your imagination.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou have to have stillness and you have to have days where you\u2019re just connecting to nature, my children, my horses.\u201d<\/p>\n
Madonna recently branded Instagram \u2013 on which she has more than 20 million followers \u2013 \u201csoul-destroying and mesmerising\u201d and admitted spending too much time on the app makes her depressed.<\/p>\n
She told Interview magazine: \u201cWe think if we look at Instagram for two hours, we\u2019ve actually been with somebody. It\u2019s a deeply disturbing activity.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s mesmerising and also soul-destroying.\u201d<\/p>\n
Asked if she doomscrolls, she said: \u201cOccasionally I open Instagram and something pops up that makes me go to the next visual. And then I go, \u2018What am I doing? I have 5,000 things to do. Get off the phone.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cI have a lot of discipline when it comes to social media, simply because I grew up without it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t have Instagram until 2018 or something. I grew up without TV. I\u2019m not a person who gravitates toward distraction.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh my god, I make lists every night, put Post-its everywhere, and then my day is filled with sometimes boring but also very exciting activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I do see, if I go on Instagram for more than 10 minutes, I get depressed, and I don\u2019t want to go there.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy am I giving this nonexistent entity power over my soul, my brain, my vision of myself, my vision of the world? Time is precious, and that\u2019s something I\u2019ve known all my life. Time\u2019s precious. What can I get done?
