The bus was travelling route 83 from Takapuna to Browns Bay.<\/p>\n

An investigation was launched<\/a>, with police asking people to help identify a man wanted in connection with the bus-ride violence.<\/p>\n

Williams said with help from the public, the alleged attacker was identified and taken into custody yesterday.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolice have no tolerance for violence taking place on public transport, and we will continue to prosecute those offenders,\u201d Williams said.<\/p>\n

Police plan to oppose bail when the man appears in court. <\/p>\n

Earlier in June, a 15-year-old was allegedly assaulted \u201cout of nowhere\u201d at the Glenfield Rd bus stop<\/a> and left with a bloody nose.<\/p>\n
