Jamie Joseph will coach the All Blacks XV for the next two years.<\/p>\n
The All Blacks fifteen will play the Barbarians in Brentford and England A in Bath in November.<\/p>\n
One other game is yet to be finalised.<\/p>\n
Joseph succeeds Clayton McMillan who led the side in 2024 and will retain the existing coaching group of Jamie Mackintosh, David Hill, and Cory Jane.<\/p>\n
After coaching Japan in 51 Tests between 2016 and 2023 before returning to New Zealand, Joseph felt this was an opportunity to get back into some international rugby.<\/p>\n
“I think it is a real privilege to get involved with this level of rugby again,” Joseph said.<\/p>\n
“I’m missing that level of rugby to be honest after being involved with the Japanese team for eight years.<\/p>\n
“You miss that level of footy and this is an opportunity to get better.”<\/p>\n
Joseph played 20 Tests between 1992 and 1995.<\/p>\n
He was also a M\u0101ori All Blacks representative and Japan international before retiring in 2001.<\/p>\n
He has coached the Highlanders, the M\u0101ori All Blacks and Japan.<\/p>\n
The All Blacks XV squad will be announced on 14 October.<\/p>\n
In 2024 the All Blacks XV had wins over Munster and Georgia.<\/p>\n
