Two men have been charged after a person was injured following a robbery and assault in Huntly in May.<\/p>\n
Police were called to Main St around 1.30am on Sunday, May 17 after a person was assaulted and had their mobile phone stolen.<\/p>\n
“The victim received moderate injuries and was understandably very shaken by the incident,” Detective Sergeant Rahul Badri said.<\/p>\n
The pair were arrested after police carried out search warrants at two addresses in the Huntly area. <\/p>\n
During the searches, Badri said police located most of the clothing allegedly worn by the men involved in the assault, as well as the victim’s phone.<\/p>\n
“I am pleased that we are able to hold these alleged offenders to account, and I hope this brings some closure to the victim and their loved ones,” he said. <\/p>\n
A 26-year-old man appeared in the Huntly District Court on Thursday charged with assault with intent to injure and theft from a person. He was due to reappear on September 24. <\/p>\n
A 24-year-old man was due in the Huntly District Court on Tuesday charged with assault with intent to injure, theft from a person, and drug-related charges. <\/p>\n
