In May, Prince William appeared on a radio show<\/a> and after he requested to play \u201cOpalite\u201d by Taylor Swift for his kids, the co-hosts asked him if he had been invited to Swift and Travis Kelce\u2019s wedding. The Prince of Wales replied, \u201cNo comment. I\u2019m hoping and I\u2019m sure there might be an invitation around but we\u2019ll see.\u201d As the wedding date neared, however, People confirmed<\/a> Prince William and Kate Middleton will not be in attendance.<\/p>\n

Swift met Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte<\/a> during one of her Eras Tour stops in London. On Jason and Travis Kelce\u2019s \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast last summer, Swift reminisced on that moment<\/a>, saying, \u201cWasn\u2019t this the week I got to watch Jason meet the royal family?\u201d continuing, \u201cI knew you were serious when I was like, \u2018Jason, do you wanna go meet\u2026\u2019\u201d and Travis chimes in, \u201cHe was like, \u2018What do I do with my beer?\u2019\u201d After Swift and Kelce announced their engagement<\/a> in a post on Instagram, the Prince and Princess of Wales\u2019s official account were among those to like the slideshow<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition, Swift and Prince William sang \u201cLivin\u2019 On A Prayer\u201d with Jon Bon Jovi<\/a> at a charity event at Kensington Palace in 2013. \u201cTo this day, I still do not know what came over me. Honestly, even now I’m cringing at what happened next, and I don’t understand why I gave in,\u201d Prince William said in 2021 of that moment<\/a>. \u201cBut, frankly, if Taylor Swift looks you in the eye, touches your arm, and says, \u2018Come with me\u2026\u2019 I got up like a puppy and went, \u2018Yeah, okay, that seems like a great idea. I’ll follow you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
