The Rolling Stones<\/a> frontman Mick Jagger has explained the reason he\u2019s against the idea of residencies over touring.<\/p>\n In recent years, more and more major artists have chosen to make fans come to them in a select number of cities across the globe rather than travelling from town to town for traditional tours.<\/p>\n Currently, Harry Styles is on the Wembley Stadium leg<\/a> of his series of global residencies to support his new album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally<\/a>, which will see him play 68 shows in just seven cities.<\/p>\n Additionally, Eagles have been parked up<\/a> at The Sphere in Las Vegas since 2024, and it is much more appealing for legacy acts that don\u2019t want to spend their days on the road travelling.<\/p>\n During a recent interview with the Argentine outfit La Naci\u00f3n, Jagger was probed about the possibility of a tour or residency in support of their new album, Foreign Tongues<\/a>, which arrives on July 10th.<\/p>\n While, as Jagger has said previously, there are no imminent plans to tour, he shared, \u201cI\u2019d love to tour this album, I can\u2019t wait to sing (it). There\u2019s so many songs on this album we can do on stage, so, I don\u2019t think we\u2019ll be touring this year, but I hope to tour next year, and I hope to do it as soon as possible. And, I\u2019d love to come to Argentina, too.\u201d<\/p>\n Then, Jagger was probed about \u201crumours about residencies in some specific cities,\u201d to which he seemed against, responding, \u201cI don\u2019t know, I\u2019m very ambivalent about residencies personally because it makes it very expensive for people to come to residencies, it costs twice as much.\u201d<\/p>\n However, as much as he would prefer to do an old-fashioned tour, Jagger did say residencies are \u201cbetter than nothing,\u201d suggesting that he\u2019d potentially agree to the possibility if it were a last resort.<\/p>\n He added, \u201cI\u2019m very comfortable moving around, personally. I like to go places.\u201d<\/p>\n Although a tour isn\u2019t on the cards, it\u2019s now less than a week until Foreign Tongues arrives, which will keep fans happy for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n Last week, they continued to preview the upcoming album with\u00a0a pair of new singles,<\/a>\u00a0including \u2018Divine Intervention\u2019 featuring The Cure\u2019s Robert Smith, as well as \u2018Jealous Lover\u2019.<\/p>\n
