Despite the clear appetite for it, Titanfall 3 is sadly not in production.<\/p>\n

A free new offering on PC<\/a> storefront Steam<\/a> could, though, scratch the itch left behind by the mech-fuelled franchise.<\/p>\n

Developed by HitBreak, Code RAPID is an upcoming third-person shooter that has dropped a free taster, which has been very well received.<\/p>\n

Given my Titanfall comparison, yes, it\u2019s perhaps obvious that Code RAPID also features mechs, so there\u2019s definitely an Armored Core feel at play here too.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the distant world of Ondarea, war machines walk the planet long after the collapse,\u201d begins the synopsis.<\/p>\n

\u201cDiscover decaying cities, snow-choked military outposts, and industrial relics of a lost age, each mission peeling back the truth behind the cause of the drone lands, and questioning the purpose of a connection that never truly existed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Players will, unsurprisingly, pilot a mech, leaping, boosting, and striking their way around the battlefield.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll be able to chain attacks together in \u201cfast-paced encounters that reward timing, spacing, and control\u201d.<\/p>\n

Your mech is customisable, so players can create a build that suits their playstyle. The game\u2019s customisation suite allows you to adapt the body, weapons, and even tuning.<\/p>\n

Play Through Code RAPID\u2019s Opening Three Missions For Free<\/p>\n

Given that this is quite a new arrival, devs haven\u2019t said much about the gameplay beyond that but I suppose that\u2019s the whole point of the demo; the idea is that you\u2019ll simply try Code RAPID out for yourself.<\/p>\n

The demo features the game\u2019s first three missions and introduces you to both the mech customisation mechanics and the core movement and combat systems.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s called an \u201cearly preview\u201d of the game, so don\u2019t be too surprised if the full version of Code RAPID<\/a> probably doesn\u2019t land in 2026.<\/p>\n

Going off the responses to the demo, it looks like you should be able to get a couple of hours of playtime out of this one.<\/p>\n

It sits at a very impressive rating on Steam of 90%, correct at the time of writing.<\/p>\n
