\u201cWales has lost a true icon, whose music brought joy to so many.<\/p>\n
\u201cI extend my heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and fans across the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
And Britain\u2019s Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, described her as \u201cone of Britain\u2019s greatest recording artists\u201d.<\/p>\n
His spokesperson added: \u201cAn iconic figure, she leaves behind a catalogue of music \u2013 from Total Eclipse Of The Heart, to Holding Out For A Hero \u2013 which continues to touch lives, flood dance floors and fill karaoke booths.<\/p>\n

Bonnie\u2019s death was announced on her official website.<\/p>\n
A message shared online read: \u201cBonnie\u2019s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will issue a further statement shortly but for now ask for privacy to deal with this tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n
