Legendary Aussie musician Rick Springfield would have zero problems winning Jessie\u2019s Girl these days.<\/p>\n
The 76-year-old rocker is resetting fitness goals for admirers around the world as viral videos of him shirtless and ripped flood social media.<\/p>\n
The leather pants-clad rocker, who is opening for former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar on his American tour, has been ditching his T-shirt to rock out on the song that propelled him to No. 1 on the US charts 45 years ago.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not just his torso that appears to be in excellent shape. Springfield\u2019s vocals on Jessie\u2019s Girl are also holding up in his 70s.<\/p>\n
American podcaster Joe Rogan and his guest, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee were among the cheer squad applauding Springfield\u2019s fitness and performance.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is literally bananas. He\u2019s 76 years old and he\u2019s singing Jessie\u2019s Girl like he just wrote it,\u201d Rogan said when introducing a clip of Springfield in action on his recent podcast.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirst of all, he looks f…ing incredible, like he\u2019s working out every day; he looks like a 30-year-old guy.<\/p>\n
Tommy Lee declared Springfield to be \u201cf…ing inspirational.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cGood job, bro,\u201d Lee said.<\/p>\n
In fact, the singer was doing such a good job, 78-year-old Hagar joked he considered kicking him off the tour.<\/p>\n
\u201cRick, you crushed it again tonight; I\u2019m thinking about having you thrown off the tour,\u201d he commented on a post of Springfield rocking out.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow is this man 76!? Looks like he found the Fountain of Youth,\u201d commented a fan on one of the performance videos.<\/p>\n
\u201cBe like Rick! Forever young!\u201d applauded another fan.<\/p>\n
The Aussie star has been based in the US since the early 1970s after a brief stint as a teen pop heart-throb in the band Zoot.<\/p>\n
He struggled to shake off the teen idol tag until 1981 when he released his album Working Class Dog which sold more than three million copies in America alone, spearheaded by the global hit Jessie\u2019s Girl.<\/p>\n
As Springfield chased his dream of chart success in the US in the late 1970s, he also launched his acting career with a succession of cameos in hit TV shows including The Six Million Dollar Man, The Hardy Boys, Wonder Woman and The Rockford Files.<\/p>\n
He became a soap opera superstar when he landed the role of Dr Noah Drake on General Hospital in the early 80s and rejoined the show in 2005.<\/p>\n
He co-starred opposite Meryl Streep in the 2015 film Ricki and the Flash.<\/p>\n
