Brent Horsburgh, who died at Waikato Hospital’s emergency department, has been remembered as a kind and loyal man who was loved by many.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this stage, Brent\u2019s cause of death has not yet been determined. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhile that process is ongoing and we await further information, our focus remains on honouring Brent\u2019s memory and ensuring we do everything we can to understand what occurred. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope that, in time, the answers we receive may help prevent other families from experiencing the heartbreak and loss that we are living through today.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope Brent will be remembered, not for the circumstances of his passing, but for the life he lived, the great times shared, the people he helped, and the love he gave to those around him.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u2018Family meant everything to him\u2019<\/p>\n
Horsburgh\u2019s wh\u0101nau said he worked hard to provide for \u201cthose he loved\u201d and was happiest when with family.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo us, Brent was first and foremost a devoted husband to Tracey, father and father-in-law, an adoring poppa, a son, brother and friend. <\/p>\n
\u201cFamily meant everything to him. He worked hard throughout his life to provide for those he loved and was always happiest when surrounded by family, whether that was around the dinner table, supporting his children, spending time with his grandchildren, or simply sharing a laugh.<\/p>\n
\u201cBrent had an incredible ability to make people feel welcome. Our home was a place where friends and family knew they belonged, and many people who came through our doors over the years came to see Brent as a second father or mentor. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe was the sort of person who would drop everything to help someone in need and would never expect anything in return.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was known for his strong work ethic and the values he instilled in his children. He taught us that hard work matters, that family comes first, and that life should never be taken too seriously. <\/p>\n
\u201cBrent had a quick wit, a mischievous sense of humour and a talent for making people laugh, often when they least expected it. Even through challenges of his own, he was always focused on lifting others up.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a poppa, Brent was immensely proud of his grandchildren and treasured every moment he spent with them. Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than talking about them or spending time with them. <\/p>\n
\u201cIn the days since Brent\u2019s passing, we have reflected on the enormous impact Brent had on our lives. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhile his loss leaves an unimaginable gap in our family, we are grateful for the memories he leaves behind, and for the example he set through the way he lived his life with loyalty and kindness toward those he loved.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile our family is still in shock and trying to come to terms with the devastating loss of Brent, we have been reminded just how many lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others.<\/p>\n
