Joy Behar<\/a> is encouraging people searching for their purpose to look backward instead of forward.<\/p>\n During the latest episode of Behind the Table<\/a>, the official podcast of The View<\/a>, the Emmy-nominated<\/a> Behar joined executive producer Brian Teta<\/a> for a conversation sparked by Jennifer Garner<\/a>\u2018s recent appearance on the talk show. After discussing a list Garner had written about her life at age 10, Behar shared why she believes the person you were as a child can offer important clues about who you\u2019re meant to become and reflected on exactly who she was at that age.<\/p>\n \u201cJennifer Garner on the show today, and we showed a list that she made about her life when she was 10 years old,\u201d said host Teta. \u201cAnd you said something my mom used to say to me all the time, too.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you\u2019re 10 years old\u2026\u201d began Behar, finished by Teta, \u201cYou always come back to that person.\u201d<\/p>\n Behar went on to explain: \u201cAll I\u2019m saying to people who are struggling with, \u2018What should I do with my life\u2019? Think about who you were at 10 years old. There\u2019s a hint there.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t care about your hair or how fat you are, how skinny you are, and all this stuff,\u201d said Behar. \u201cYou\u2019re still happy to go to the beach and just throw yourself into the water. See who that was.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s funny to see cuz I\u2019m still in the middle of raising kids and they go through a lot of changes after 10, personality-wise,\u201d commented Teta.<\/p>\n At 10, Behar knew exactly who she was as 10 years old: \u201cI was a curly head skinny roller skating maven who played stick ball and stoop ball and made everybody laugh in class and pass notes in class. And that\u2019s what I was like,\u201d said Behar. \u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019m obstreperous.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was such a talking machine in high school and junior high that I missed out on getting awards, like to be on the honor roll. They would hold my personality against me cuz I was talking a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n Behar\u2019s takeaway?
