The Russo family (along with several exciting familiar faces) will return for one last spell next month: the four-part “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” series finale<\/a> event will air Tuesday, August 4 (8\/7c) on Disney Channel, available to stream next day on Disney+, TVLine has learned.<\/p>\n

Disney also dropped a trailer for the highly-anticipated farewell event, which includes the first footage of two major returns from “Wizards of Waverly Place”: Jennifer Stone, who played Alex’s (Selena Gomez) BFF Harper, will guest-star in the final season, as will Gregg Sulkin<\/a>, who played Alex’s werewolf boyfriend Mason.<\/p>\n

The final episodes will also introduce\u00a0Brandon Micheal Hall (“Search Party”) as Damien Penwulf, the never-before-seen father of Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown). Additional guest stars include\u00a0Maria Canals-Barrera as Russo family matriarch Theresa, Ramon Reed as Silas Evilini, and Tobias Jelinek as the nefarious Lord Morsus.<\/p>\n

“Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” stars David Henrie as Justin Russo, Brown as Billie,\u00a0Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo,\u00a0Max Matenko\u00a0as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora\u00a0as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos\u00a0as Giada Russo.<\/p>\n

Here’s what we can expect from the final four episodes of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” according to Disney’s official synopsis: “Billie, still reeling from losing Alex at the end of Season 2<\/a>, discovers that the only way to rescue her mother is to reunite with her long-lost father. As her family bands together to find Alex, Billie realizes that their combined power is the only way the Russos can defeat the evil plaguing them.”<\/p>\n

In addition to returning as Alex Russo for several episodes of the final season, Selena Gomez will also make her directorial debut with the premiere.<\/p>\n
