He made a pact with his friends that if England beat Congo he would go ahead with the ink. After England won that match, he waited until returning home before booking an appointment with a tattoo artist, according to the BBC.<\/p>\n

When he arrived home he contacted Holy Trinity Tattoo in Wigan to get the ink before England took on Norway in the quarter-finals.<\/p>\n
\u201cI called the shop and they were busy but when I explained what I wanted the lady said, \u2018wow, yeah I\u2019ll fit you in\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m glad really, as it\u2019s a really good tattoo.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not the end of the world, it\u2019s just a tattoo.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is a lovely guy, and was the life and soul of the studio that day.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m very happy we did it. I was unsure at first but he was adamant and to him it was a bit of fun and he would get it done anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n
The tattoo studio posted a video of the work on social media, drawing a mixed response from commenters.<\/p>\n
