For Chalamet, a French victory in the World Cup semifinal would have meant another one of his teams in the championship. The star actor is a diehard New York Knicks fan and was in the locker room after they defeated the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.

Instead, France’s explosive attack was shut down by Spain’s stifling defense. Spain awaits the winner of England and Argentina, who play in the other semifinal Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET on FOX.
