Maybe that\u2019s why I married him. We were just so aligned. The actor then mentioned a \u201crightfully\u201d long and thorough process involved in taking on a child, and how joy overwhelmed her and Bongiovi the moment they received the call telling them they\u2019d been matched with a little girl. \u201cGetting the call, I mean, I will never forget it,\u201d she told Shetty. \u201cIt was the most surreal feeling and yet we both knew in that moment, like, that was\u2026that we had found each other. Like, oh my goodness, this is our girl, 100%, no doubt.\u201d<\/p>\n
Recalling that moment, Brown remembered a conversation she had with another adoptive mother. \u201cAnd she told us, \u2018There are two ways to have a baby, one through your stomach and one through your heart, and my girl was through my heart,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Brown and Bongiovi have a self-imposed rule of not speaking in detail about their daughter, whose name they have decided not to reveal for privacy reasons. In an interview with British Vogue<\/a>, the actor explained the reasons behind this choice: \u201cIt\u2019s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly. If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that\u2019s something we\u2019d support,\u201d says Brown. \u201cBut right now, as she\u2019s so little.\u201d She added, \u201cAs her parents, it\u2019s our job to protect her from that.\u201d<\/p>\n
