Frustration soon followed, Syme said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur kids have come back to school, it\u2019s a cold morning and it will take a couple of days to get sorted, at a great expense.\u201d<\/p>\n
Syme said the one positive was the community\u2019s support.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just cannot believe how far and wide it has gone … we\u2019ve had hundreds of messages.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just a reflection on how awesome our community is and how they 100% support our school. They were all so quick to jump in and be as helpful as they possibly could.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bulls resident and Rangit\u012bkei District councillor Paul Sharland was \u201cdisgusted\u201d when he heard of the copper theft \u2013 the first of its kind that he knew of. <\/p>\n
Sharland questioned what would motivate someone to steal from a school. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a pretty despicable act … the poor kids are going to have to go along into cold classrooms for I don\u2019t know how long.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe other thing that annoys me is, what would have been the difference if their kids were attending that school and someone ripped the copper piping out of the heaters?\u201d<\/p>\n
