A large, shallow earthquake has struck off the coast of Russia, with \u201chazardous tsunami waves\u201d possible for coastal areas within 1000km of the epicentre, the US Geological Survey says. Bridge, for his part, was amused by the online excitement \u2013 as was his husband, who thought the balloon meme \u201cwas the best\u201d.<\/p>\n

While he hasn\u2019t seen the reactions to the post himself, he has been sent several by friends and colleagues.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thing with internet comments is sometimes they\u2019re good and sometimes they\u2019re bad. So it\u2019s best to take it all with a grain of salt.\u201d<\/p>\n

His message to \u201call the American ladies\u201d is simple: \u201cIt\u2019s never going to happen. But I have zero issues with being objectified.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several comments compared him to Daniel Gillies, who played Elijah Mikaelson in the popular teen series The Vampire Diaries and spinoff The Originals.<\/p>\n

One commenter said, \u201che looks like the original brother in Vampire Diaries\u201d, while another quipped \u201cElijah, what are you doing here??!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Gillies grew up in Hamilton before moving to Hollywood to pursue acting. He was married to She\u2019s All That star Rachael Leigh Cook for 15 years and shares two children with the actress, Charlotte and Theodore Gillies.<\/p>\n

While the 49-year-old told the Herald he had no plans to move back to Aotearoa<\/a>, he was still warm about the place he grew up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think New Zealand is one of those places you grow fonder of the more time that goes by that you\u2019re away from it.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the Hollywood heartthrob has a local doppelganger in Bridge \u2013 who doesn\u2019t see the resemblance.<\/p>\n
