His lack of contrition after comments about one of my MPs\u2019 maternity leave this evening shows he hasn\u2019t,\u201d Luxon said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lRosKcBdZHd\" style=\"display:none\">The post may draw comparisons to former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern who, as Labour leader, said Green co-leader Metiria Turei would not serve in a government she led. <\/p>\n<p class=\"lRosKcBdZHd\" style=\"display:none\">That intervention was one of the main factors that led to the end of Turei\u2019s career. <\/p>\n<p class=\"lRosKcBdZHd\" style=\"display:none\">Nash\u2019s latest scandal began after remarks made on a podcast hosted by former Labour MP Phil Goff and former National MP Chris Finlayson called Cross Party Lines. Finlayson quoted a text message he claimed he had received from Nash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lRosKcBdZHd\" style=\"display:none\">Finlayson had been speaking positively about Nimon, the current MP for Napier, who took time off from Parliament to have her first child, Lochie Lawson, in 2025, on a previous episode of the podcast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lRosKcBdZHd\" style=\"display:none\">Finlayson said Nimon \u201chad a very good future\u201d and Nash, who is running against Nimon, responded: \u201cComments like yours motivate and drive me harder\u201d, Finlayson read.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lRosKcBdZHd\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cKatie took nine months off on full pay, went back for a week, then took another month off,\u201d the message continued.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lRosKcBdZHd\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cLaziest MP I have ever come across. Nice woman, but ill-suited to the rigours of being an electorate MP.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"lRosKcBdZHd\" style=\"display:none\">Nimon\u2019s <a href=\"\" rel=\"\" title=\"\">son Lochie was born on May 22<\/a> \u2013 that year\u2019s Budget Day.
