{"id":542059,"date":"2026-07-24T14:24:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T14:24:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/542059\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T14:24:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T14:24:10","slug":"apple-wallet-drivers-licenses-coming-to-two-more-states-soon-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/542059\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Wallet driver\u2019s licenses coming to two more states soon: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/apple-wallet-ios-26.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple Wallet offers digital IDs and driver\u2019s licenses in a <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/digital-id-drivers-license-iphone-states-airports\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">variety of US states<\/a>, and according to findings by MacRumors\u2019 Aaron Perris, there are two new states that could add support soon.<\/p>\n<p>Utah and Virginia could be next states to launch Apple Wallet support for driver\u2019s licenses<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/apple-wallet-drivers-licenses-ios-27.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1062008\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple Wallet added support for digital IDs years ago, but US states have been fairly slow to support the feature.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s changed some in the last year as rollouts have increased. And now, per the findings of Aaron Perris, it sounds like another couple of states will get on board soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/aaronp613\/status\/2080397647941075282?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">Aaron Perris writes on X<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today I found a reference in Apple&#8217;s backend to Utah possibly being the next state to get a Driver&#8217;s License in Apple Wallet<\/p>\n<p>In May, I also found a reference to Virginia, but that is not live yet. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rNtbbngjjj\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/t.co\/rNtbbngjjj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Aaron (@aaronp613) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/aaronp613\/status\/2080397647941075282?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">July 23, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Per Perris, both Utah and Virginia are ready to be supported in Apple\u2019s backend. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That means Apple has already done some of the work needed to launch digital IDs and driver\u2019s licenses in those states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We don\u2019t know exactly when those new digital IDs will go live, as it depends not just on Apple\u2019s timeline but also that of the states. The presence of each state in Apple\u2019s backend, though, is a great sign that residents in Utah and Virginia should soon be able to get an Apple Wallet-based driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Are you in a state that supports Apple Wallet driver\u2019s licenses?
