Liam Lawson feels overtaking in the Hungarian Grand Prix will be “basically impossible” as he seeks to overcome his qualifying letdown.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Despite feeling the car had enough pace in it to secure a Q3 berth, Lawson was eliminated in 11th, 0.126s away from advancing, with team-mate Arvid Lindblad going on to take ninth, having held an advantage through the weekend.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Pointing out aspects of his lap which he felt had let him down, Lawson indicated that a mistake on his first Q2 lap had had consequences for him as he detailed the tough challenge he faces in the grand prix.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
“I just drove really badly in Q2; it is a shame as the car has been very, very good this weekend,” Lawson told media, including RacingNews365.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
“I had a lock-up in the first half of Q2 and lost the reference for the last lap, which doesn’t help, but in general, it was just a really bad lap, so it is not surprising, but a shame because we’ve had quite a good car.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
“We were really solid in FP3, and I’m not sure, but maybe the track temperatures came down a little bit.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
“Maybe we went a bit too slow on our out-laps, but the fronts were terrible at the start of the lap, and it was pretty poorly driven through the rest of the lap anyway, so that is something to review.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
